Public health officials in California have ordered clinics throughout the state to stop using a specific batch of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine after several people suffered severe allergic reactions.
Sunday night's announcement renders 330,000 doses distributed to 287 clinics unusable. The reactions were limited to one community vaccination clinic, and a "higher-than-usual" number of people needed medical attention within 24 hours of receiving their shot. Officials say fewer than ten people had adverse reactions.
