Pastor Tecoy Porter, of the Genesis Church in South Sacramento, is joining the race for a seat in the California state Senate.
His priorities include helping with personal and business-related pandemic recovery efforts. It's Dr. Porter's first run for public office. He joins Sacramento City Councilwoman Angelique Ashby in the race for the sixth-district seat now held by Dr. Richard Pan. Councilman Eric Guerra and former Insurance Commissioner Dave Jones have also expressed interest in running.
