Sacramento city leaders are reviewing the police department's response to local protests.
Council members are demanding the Sacramento Police Department to submit a report detailing how officers have responded to Black Lives Matter demonstrations and political protests over the last several months. Police Chief Daniel Hahn says it's a fine line, balancing the protection of people and property from violence and allowing people to express their first amendment rights, but adds he's proud of the work the department has done. According to Sacramento Police, the department has spent 616,000 on overtime since the first of this year.
