The U.S. saw a slight drop in the number of daily deaths from the coronavirus on Thursday.
The COVID Tracking Project says 3,889 deaths were reported yesterday, a drop from the 4,409 the day before. Despite this, the group says January 2021 is now the second most deadly month for COVID-19 in the US since the start of the pandemic. As of Thursday, there are at least 119,000 people being treated for the virus in hospitals across the country.
