California Braces For "Atmospheric River Storm"

About 5,000 people in Northern and Central California are being evacuated ahead of an expected atmospheric river storm.

The storm that's expected to hit the San Francisco Bay Area and Central Coast tonight is a powerful jet stream that pulls in air packed with moisture. The storm can bring ten feet of snow and ten inches of rainfall, and cause dangerous mud slides. The evacuations are for the Santa Cruz Mountains and the North Coast.
