Governor Gavin Newsom says his decision to lift the statewide stay-at-home was not meant to weaken the recall effort against him.
In yesterday's press conference, Newsom quickly shut down claims that his move to lift the order was a way to appease his critics. The California Secretary of State's office has given the recall campaign called "Rescue California" until March 17 to qualify for a ballot. It needs 1.5 million valid signatures to qualify.
