The Sacramento County Board of Supervisors is planning to move forward with an expansion of the Sacramento County Main Jail.
Kitchell Construction is up to receive a $10 million dollar contract to oversee the design and construction of additional space to the jail that would be used for medical, mental health and programming needs of inmates. The board will consider the contract this afternoon. County staff explains the expansion project is to improve the facility, not increase the facility's bed count.
