California is set to release new age-based guidelines for COVID-19 vaccinations.
Under the newly announced vaccine distribution system, the framework will focus on age once all people in Phase 1A get their shots. The current tier includes health care workers, and those older than 65. Health and Human Services Secretary Dr. Mark Ghaly implied younger people who are in professions where they're not as exposed might have to wait a little longer than those with higher risk of exposure. The state hopes this new plan will speed up the vaccination process overall.
