Renters struggling to pay will now be getting five more months of relief. Lawmakers approved SB91 Thursday allowing the partial eviction moratorium to last through the end of June as well as the creation of a program to dish out over 2.6 billion dollars in rental assistance provided by the federal government. The bill now heads to Governor Newsom's desk for his signature. Some lawmakers are worried the program still puts at risk those most vulnerable because of the voluntary nature of the terms and that the terms do not cover every California renter.
