California is working to protect its elderly residents and those with disabilities from fraud.
The new Division of Medi-Cal Fraud and Elder Abuse will focus on combating fraud and protecting those most vulnerable, including thousands of Californians who live in licensed nursing homes and residential care facilities for the elderly. California Attorney General Xavier Becerra also announced the launch of Operation SAFE (Stop Abuse and Fraud of Elders), an initiative that further protects the state's elderly population by investigating abuse and fraud claims.
