Another 2,000 people are dead from the coronavirus as the COVID Tracking Project says January was the deadliest month of the pandemic.
The announcement comes as officials report cases of the different variants of the virus nationwide. January saw more than 95,000 deaths recorded, which is 20,000 more than the number of those who died from the respiratory illness in December. The U.S. has the highest death toll of any country in the world at over 440,000.
