Orangevale residents may get an unexpected knock on their door this afternoon.
The Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District is conducting a smoke alarm blitz after a fatal house fire. Metro Fire isn't entering homes, but will provide information on proper fire and carbon monoxide alarm instillation. They're visiting residents near Lake Natoma Drive and Tanglewood Circle between 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.
