California is once again looking to change who gets the COVID-19 vaccine next.
The Community Vaccine Advisory Committee proposed residents with disabilities or medical conditions should be next in line after older residents and some essential workers. The committee reviewed a new vaccine plan after the state's move to an age-based vaccine system drew intense criticism from those with underlying medical conditions and disabilities. As state officials work out the details of a possible new vaccine plan, the change would only apply to those vaccinated at hospitals or other clinics where medical status could be verified, not at mass vaccination sites.
