Sac County Declares State Of Emergency After Winter Storms

Sacramento County has declared a local state of emergency following last week's winter storms.

This move allows for state and federal reimbursement for storm damage expenses. The county's Office of Emergency Services says the initial damage estimate total comes out to $7.3 million. Those expenses included vegetation clearing, power restoration and requests for mutual aid. The city of Sacramento says it won't be able to clear all storm debris until the end of the month.
