The US Drought Monitor says despite a series of soaking storms, most of California is still in some level of drought.
Officials say nearly 60% of the state is in the Moderate-to-Severe Drought category. Another 30% is in the more Extreme Drought range. This includes most of the Sacramento Valley from Solano County north to the Oregon Border. A small sliver of far eastern California in Inyo and San Bernardino counties is in the most severe Exceptional Drought category. Most of the coastal counties from Santa Cruz south to San Diego is Abnormally Dry.
