Levi's Stadium Slated As Next Mass Vaccination Site in Northern California

Governor Gavin Newsom is announcing that Levi's Stadium is set to become Northern California's next mass vaccination site for COVID-19. The home of the San Francisco 49ers in Santa Clara will serve county residents age 65 and older, with a capacity to vaccinate 5,000 people a day initially. With plans to increase to as many as 15,000 vaccinations daily as more supplies become available. Governor Newsom says the biggest constraint in the vaccine roll out at this point is the lack if supply. The state's partnership with Santa Clara County and the NFL comes a few days after NFL commissioner Rodger Goodell said that all official NFL stadiums can be used as vaccination sites. Goodell sent a letter to President Joe Biden offering the services of the stadiums in a nationwide effort to get the vaccine distributed.
