CA COVID Metrics Improve, Vaccinations Lag

Many COVID-19 metrics California uses to track the virus are improving, but vaccination efforts are moving slowly. Speaking in Fresno, Governor Gavin Newsom said the state is making progress with some of the most troubling statistics.

Newsom also pointed to a dramatic drop in the test positivity rate, down from thirteen-point-nine percent a month ago to four-point-eight percent on Wednesday. Newsom says supply issues continue to hold up vaccine shipments. But he is encouraged by commitments from the Biden administration to increase distribution in the coming weeks and months.
