CA Lawmaker Seeks To Ban NDAs In Sexual Misconduct Cases

A California lawmaker is looking to ban non-disclosure agreements in cases of workplace sexual assault and harassment.

State Sen. Connie Leyva introduced the Silenced No More Act this week which prevents workers from having to sign such settlements in all cases of discrimination and abuse. The measure would also allow workers to come froward about other claims of discrimination or bias, such as those that involve race or sexual orientation and is intended to protect workers from having to sign confidentiality agreements as conditions of their severance packages.
