Not all of California's wine regions suffered heavy damage from the wildfires of 2020.
Vineyards in Napa, Sonoma, Mendocino and Lake Counties had to dump tons of fruit because of "smoke taint," but wine-grape growers in Amador County escaped most of the damage. John DiStasio of DiStasio Vineyards says the Amador County region south-east of Sacramento did have some smoky days, but not enough to create "smoke-taint" in his Barbera and Zinfandel crop.
