Students Rally At State Capitol To Let Youth Sports Resume

Student athletes are calling on the state of California to let youth sports resume.

A group gathered at the State Capitol yesterday, bringing their demands to Governor Gavin Newsom. One hundred student athletes, joined by coaches and parents, delivered 10,000 letters and signatures to Newsom's office asking the governor to let youth and high school sports start back up immediately. Sports like football, soccer and volleyball are not allowed to resume until a county reaches the orange tier. Newsom says he is negotiating with advocates for youth sports and hopes to have more guidance in the next few days.
