Former President Trump's impeachment lawyers will begin laying out their case today.
House impeachment managers finished two days of opening statements yesterday, arguing Trump must be held accountable for his actions on January 6th. Maryland Democrat Jamie Raskin told senators there is overwhelming evidence that Trump incited the deadly riot at the Capitol that day. Colorado Democrat Diana DeGette said rioters who invaded the Capitol were there because Trump "told them to." California Democrat Ted Lieu said Trump has shown no remorse and has assumed no responsibility for the Capitol assault.
