Man Sues Tahoe Resort Over Deadly 2020 Avalanche

A man who survived a deadly 2020 avalanche at a Lake Tahoe ski resort is now filing suit.

KCRA reports Kaley Bloom accuses Alpine Meadows of poor avalanche control and a rush to open a popular run. The Placer County resident says he continues to suffer from his injures. Bloom's friend, Cole Comstock, died in the January 2020 avalanche. It happened near the advanced Scott Chair lift area after a heavy snow storm. The resort says they cannot comment on ongoing lawsuits, but extends their sympathies to the family and friends of the skier who lost his life.
