Malcolm X's Family Wants Death Investigation Reopened

Family members of the late Malcolm X are calling for the investigation into his murder to be reopened. 56 years after the civil rights activist and icon was assassinated in New York City, two of his daughters spoke out this past weekend.

The family is pushing for a further probe in light of new testimony that would seem to implicate both the New York police and the FBI in the death of Malcolm X. Speaking during a press conference on Saturday, Ilyasah Shabazz, one of X's daughters, said any evidence that can offer additional insight into the tragedy should be "thoroughly investigated." During that press conference, a letter from a now deceased former New York police officer named Raymond Wood was read aloud. In it, Wood accused the NYPD and FBI of playing a role in the high-profile killing.
