A community is grieving the loss of 40 animals in a tragic Newcastle fire.
Neighbors, friends and patrons alike visited the Enchanted Forest Exotic Animal Sanctuary on Monday to help clean up after a fire had wiped out the entire nursery. Owner of the Sanctuary Melyssa Descovich says they received many of the animals over the past year, when people hurt financially by the coronavirus pandemic could not afford to keep their pets. She says by May last year, they were getting five to 35 animals each week. Descovich appreciates her community, saying she didn't expect all the support.
