A study shows one of the coronavirus variants is now exploding in California.
Dr. Peter Chin-Hong of UC San Francisco says the new variants are not surprising. The study was released by UCSF yesterday. It showed that cases of the variant that was first discovered in Denmark has "spiked significantly" over the past few weeks in the state. The university partnered with the city's COVID-19 Latino Task Force to do the month-long study.
