Mental Health Emergency Response Plan Delayed

The plans to replace law enforcement with mental health experts in response to certain emergencies are being delayed.

The Sacramento County Board of Supervisors voted unanimously earlier this week to push back the program for at least a month, hoping to work through some criticism by the community. Several law enforcement agencies in the region agreed they felt caught off guard by the project when it was announced. Budgets will be calculated and details ironed out before the Board returns on March 30th.
