New Legislation Looks To End Private Drug Tests For Marijuana

New legislation could restrict private companies from requiring employees to undergo drug tests for marijuana.

Specific details are still being ironed out, but Assembly Bill 1256 would allow employees who face discrimination for cannabis use to take legal action. Introduced by Democratic Assemblyman Bill Quirk, the bill aims to prevent employers from using past evidence of using marijuana, like hair or urine tests, as justification for termination or discrimination.
