The transformation of a "ghost mall" into a casino and hotel complex in Elk Grove starts next week.
Members of the Wilton Rancheria Tribe along with Boyd Gaming are building a new complex that will house an Indian gaming casino, restaurants, hotel, and even a convention center. Tribe Chair Jesus Tarango said the money generated from the business will be a boon to the health, education, and welfare of the Wilton Rancheria tribe. The groundbreaking ceremony is on March 9th, and the complex, located off of Highway 99 near Grant Line Road, is scheduled to open in the middle of next year.
