Bill Passed Giving 2 Billion Dollars To Schools That Re-Open

California schools will be getting billions more funding if they chose to reopen for in-person instruction.

State Senator Brian Jones says the new bill provides monetary support for schools, but fails to mandate any actions to get them open. The final decision of mandating school reopenings to local district officials is now based on the tiered reopening system and is subject to agreements between districts and teachers unions.
