Stadiums, Concerts, And Amusement Parks Permitted To Reopen

California is allowing the return of outdoor concerts, attendance at sporting events and the reopening theme parks. Under new guidelines outdoor ballparks and stadiums, along with theme parks in certain tiers can reopen April 1st, with mandatory masking and reduced capacity. In the restrictive purple tier, outdoor sports and live concerts can only have 100 people in attendance, red tier venues will have a limit of 20 percent capacity, and orange tier maxes out at 33-percent capacity.

Health and Human Services director Dr. Mark Ghaly made the announcement Friday saying the mitigation efforts and vaccine distribution are helping reopen the state. All counties will still ban indoor dining at the venues and only California residents are permitted to attend. Large entertainment venues and amusement parks like Disneyland have been closed without any sign of reopening rules since the early days of the pandemic almost a full year ago.
