Some much needed snowfall is in the Sierra Nevada weather forecast.
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory from 10:00 p.m. Friday through 10:00 a.m. Saturday. Forecasters say some areas could see up to 10 in of fresh snow in the higher elevations at above 5,000 ft. The CHP and Caltrans say drivers should be ready for slippery roadways, reduced visibility, travel delays and chain controls. Another round of snow is scheduled to hit the Sierra on Monday and Tuesday.
