A high school football player is dead after collapsing on the sidelines during last Friday's season opener.
Eighteen-year-old senior Emmanuel "Manny" Antwi was a lineman for Kennedy High School in Sacramento. During the fourth quarter of their game against Hiram Johnson High, Antwi suffered a medical emergency, leading to 10-minutes of CPR before being transported to a hospital, and the game was cancelled. Education staff and students across the Sac City Unified School District are now offering condolences, and a GoFundMe has been organized to help pay funeral expenses for the Antwi family.
