April 1st marks the day any Californian 50 years of age and older are now eligible to get vaccinated without any prior health conditions or essential work. To celebrate this milestone, Governor Gavin Newsom sat down with Dr. Mark Ghaly, CA Health and Human Services Director, to administer his one dose Johnson & Johnson shot in Los Angeles. Sacramento's Mayor Darrell Steinberg also sat down for his Johnson & Johnson shot today in Sacramento. Governor Newsom previously announced these changing guidelines last month saying that all adults over 16 years old can get the vaccine starting April 15th. The influx of vaccine eligible candidates is dependent upon vaccine supply within the Golden State.
