River Cats Bring Back Brundage, New Season Opening Date

The Sacramento River Cats are announcing the return of manager Dave Brundage.

The announcement yesterday comes as the minor league club prepares to defend their 2019 Triple-A Championship, after the 2020 season was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Rejoining Brundage this season is hitting coach Damon Minor and fundamentals coach Jolbert Cabrera, along with several newcomers to Sacramento's baseball operations personnel. The River Cats were set to begin their season April 8th, but the MLB pushed the season opening back one month due to the ongoing pandemic, so now Sacramento will face the Aviators May 6th in Las Vegas and will play their first game at home on May 20th against the Reno Aces.

The River Cats return to regularly scheduled baseball after a thrilling 2019 season finishing as PCL Champions, becoming the first team to win the PCL Championship three times.
