Sacramento Restaurants Care Resilience Fund Introduced

Restaurant owners in Sacramento who are struggling through the pandemic may be eligible to receive up to $3,500, as part of a grant program.

The Restaurants Care Resilience Fund is looking to help eateries currently open with just one location, fewer than 50 employees, and that can prove an at least 20% revenue loss from 2019 to 2020. Preference for the funds will be given to restaurants owned by women and or people of color, and the money must be used on payroll related expenses. The grant's one week application period begins this Sunday, April 11th, and is available to restaurants in Sacramento, Alameda, Fresno, Kern, LA, San Diego, San Francisco and San Joaquin counties.

According to The National Restaurant Association, it was estimated in December that about 110,000 restaurants have closed permanently, or about 17% of the industry's eateries. The grants come following a decline in restaurant profitability after a hard-hit 2020.
