Caitlyn Jenner Officially Files Paperwork To Run For Governor of California

Reality star and former Olympian Caitlyn Jenner has reportedly filed paperwork to run for governor of California and will officially announce her bid today, according to Axios.

Leading up to Governor Gavin Newsom's likely recall election, Jenner is looking to run in opposition as a longtime Republican, and has assembled a team of well-known GOP names including Tony Fabrizio, former pollster for Donald Trump's 2016 and 2020 campaigns. Her campaign website and a donation page are expected to go live today as well.

In a statement, Jenner said "Sacramento needs an honest leader with a clear vision" and that "for the past decade, we have seen the glimmer of the Golden State reduced by one-party rule that places politics over progress and special interests over people."
