CA Man Dies After Held Down By Cops For Five Minutes

Three California officers are on leave after a 26-year-old man died while being arrested last week in San Francisco.

Body camera video released yesterday shows Mario Gonzalez being pinned facedown on the ground for five minutes. KGO-TV says police were responding to a possible theft in the area and spent over ten minutes trying to figure out who the man was before wrestling him to the ground. Gonzalez died after being pinned to the ground for about five minutes. After seeing the video, the Gonzalez family is calling it murder. His mother told reporters, "we aren't cockroaches, we are human."

The video and news of the event are sparking outrage following the heavily publicized trail of Derek Chauvin, former police officer convicted of the murder of George Floyd.
