A mountain lion found wandering the streets of San Francisco is being moved to the Oakland Zoo.
Officers from California Fish and Wildlife shot the lion with a tranquilizer dart after the animal was spotted in a tree near Mission Street in the Bernal Heights neighborhood. The male mountain lion weighs about 120 pounds and will stay at the zoo for now until a more permanent location can be found. A team of biologists will determine what happens next for the big cat.
According to NBC Bay Area, just a day earlier, Surveillance video caught the same animal, which has a collar and is being monitored by the Bay Area Puma Project, strolling along a patch of dirt and grass in the same area.
