A mild grass fire is burning near the Mather Field Airport and is expected to get under control by Monday evening. Sacramento Metro Fire Captain Chris Vestal says some homes were evacuated but there is no structure damage. Evacuations are being carried out with the help of the Sacramento Sheriff's Department. Captain Vestal notes the evacuation orders should be lifted Monday evening due to the decreasing risk of structure damage. Vestal estimates less than 100 acres have burned from the vegetation fire and crews should have it contained by Monday night.
