New Ordinances Passed In Sacramento County To Cut Back On Illegal Fireworks

The Sacramento City Council has passed a new ordinance to help with enforcement regarding illegal fireworks. The "Social Host Ordinance" helps law enforcement fine those who host the illegal fireworks, not just those who are caught setting them off. Other cities in the county have also enacted similar ordinances, like in Folsom. Safe and Sane fireworks are okay but the new ordinance also says they are illegal after 11:00 PM in the city, and only for a few days leading up to and including the Fourth of July. This is not a drastic ban on all fireworks, it only means that if you're the host of the party, you can be fined, no matter who uses lights the fuse. A few professional firework shows have been scheduled in the region this year. as most were cancelled last year.
