Memorial Day Weekend Warnings Issued

Local fire officials are giving a few warnings to Sacramento residents ahead of this Memorial Day Weekend.

Sac Metro Fire Captain Chris Vestal tells KCRA-3, weather conditions are expected to be hot-and-dry, presenting high-risk for wildfires. Captain Vestal notes that with the high temperatures, residents need to be careful with drastically cold water temperatures in swimming-and-boating hot-spots, threatening a loss of muscle control and possibly leading to drowning. Lastly, Captain Vestal is reminding Sacramentans that personal firework-use is not authorized until the end of the month.

So, be responsible with the high fire-risk, watch out for cripplingly cold waters, and hold on to those fireworks until the Fourth of July.
