Venus Williams tweeted her support for Osaka, writing "Take care of yourself and see you back winning soon." Tennis icon Billie Jean King called her brave and said it was important to give her "the space and time she needs."
Osaka took to Twitter to respond after the French Open threatened a $15,000 fine and expulsion from future events for refusal to speak to media personnel .
