Weeks after the incident that killed one of their own, the Stockton Police Department is releasing the body cam footage from that call. Stockton PD officers responded on May 11th, 2021 to reports from neighbors there was a domestic disturbance going on inside that home. That's when Officer Jimmy Inn and Officer Pancho Freer were called to the scene. The body cam footage shows Officer Inn going up to the door and knocking, declaring he is with the police. After the second time knocking, the suspect can be seen opening the door and immediately pulling a gun and shooting Officer Inn at close range. The footage then switches to Officer Freer's camera and shows him responding to the shots coming from the house. The suspect shoots at the patrol car where Freer was waiting. They engage in an exchange of gunfire as Officer Freer calls out to his partner and cal for backup on this radio. The suspect, now identified as Lance Lowe, comes out of the house with his 8-year old son in his arms. Officer Freer pleads with Lowe to release the child and eventually Lowe drops the child once someone nearby tackles him. Officer Freer shoots the suspect without injuring the child, who was medically cleared and released to the mother. Both 30-year old Officer Jimmy Inn and Lowe were transported to the hospital and both died from injuries.
