Water Tank Explodes In A Central Valley City, Killing One Person

The City of Lemoore has declared a state of emergency after a water tank exploded Tuesday. The water tank ruptured, lifting about 70 feet into the air and killing one contractor and injuring a city employee in the process. The city is declaring a water crisis as the tank held about 1.5 million gallons of water for the residents. Officials have been working on getting wells up and running to keep water flowing to residents. Officials identified the contractor that was killed as Dion Jones. City Manager Nathan Olson said that water conservation is greatly needed right now. Restrictions include no watering lawns, no hosing down concrete or cars, and he went on to say that fire suppression is key due to low water pressure.
