Some gold artifacts are missing following a break-in at the Sacramento History Museum over the weekend. According to Traci Rockefeller Cusack, a spokesperson for the museum, the incident happened around 5:15 a.m. Saturday morning. Cusack said two display cases were damaged and the gold artifacts were taken from a third display case that was successfully broken into. Sacramento police confirm officers responded to a ringing alarm and that the suspect fled the scene before they arrived, also saying the security measures worked as they should but the suspect was able to get in and out before the police arrived on scene. Details on the artifacts and how much they are worth were not immediately announced.
