- Latest updates as the Dixie and River Fires continue to ravage Northern California. As of Thursday morning, the River Fire is 2,400 acres and 0% contained. An estimated 50 structures have been destroyed. The Dixie Fire has destroyed the Gold Rush town of Greenville. The Dixie Fire has grown to 322,502 acres and remains at 35% contained, now the 6th largest fire in California history.
- Lake Oroville is at its lowest level ever. Last year at this time it was at 768 feet above sea level. Today it's at 642 feet, that's the lowest recorded level ever. In just two weeks the Oroville hydroelectric power plant could be shut down. The U.S. Drought monitor shows that nearly half of California is in an exceptional drought.
- Sutter Health is the latest health care provider requiring their entire workforce to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. Sutter Health will require its employees to get fully vaccinated by September 30th. The mandate applies to all employees, physicians, volunteers and vendors.
