New Evacuation Orders In Colfax, Days After Repopulating From River Fire

Cal Fire and The Placer County Sheriff's Office is warning residents around Colfax of a new vegetation fire that has broken out around Robbers Ravine area. The Placer County Sheriff's Office is ordering evacuations around Robbers Ravine & Dusty Rd. Also, for the entire neighborhood off of Cape Horn Road and south to I-80 is under an evacuation warning, deputies warning those residents they could be in danger in the coming hours. This includes all of Robbers Ravine to Cape Horn, Cape Horn to Cape Horn East, Dusty Road, Old Loggers Lane and Hide Out Lane.

This is the latest of several fires in the Colfax area, most prominently the River Fire that broke out on August 4th around 2pm. As of Tuesday evening's incident report, the River Fire was just over 2,600 acres and 85% contained. The re-entry process started over the weekend once crews cleared the area as safe from the fire. At this time no connection between the fires has been established and the cause of the fires are still under investigation.
