PG&E says they may need to shutoff power for the sake of public safety starting on Tuesday night.

There's concern the weather is going to take another turn in the coming days and PG&E says it may be forced to cut power in the area. It's identified Tuesday night into Wednesday as a potential slot for a Public Safety Power Shutoff, affecting approximately 39,000 customers. The company says the majority of customers that might be affected by the Public Safety Power Shutoffs are in Butte and Shasta counties. A total of 16 counties are affected, including Butte, Glenn, Lassen, Plumas, Shasta, Sierra, Yolo and Yuba counties.

Customers can also look up their addresses online to see if they are at risk of a shutoff, at www.pge.com/pspsupdates.
