Elk Grove Making Moves To Become Destination City With New Developments

Local officials are continuing efforts to make Elk Grove a destination city. The city is undergoing a noticeable transformation, involving several major projects designed to draw commerce into the area. Construction is underway on the $500-million Sky River Casino in south Elk Grove, expected to open in 2022. The Casino will feature a 110,260 square-foot gaming floor, 2,000 slot machines, and a 12-story hotel with more than 300 guest rooms.

Coming in 2023 is a new 100-bed Dignity Health Hospital at Wymark Road and Elk Grove Boulevard. As for this year's additions, a 30-acre park called The Preserve was opened last weekend off Big Horn Boulevard. It's all part of the city's transformation in what Mayor Bobbie Singh-Allen tells KCRA-3 is a pivotal point in the history of Elk Grove.
