Woodland Police are responding after a suspicious package arrived at the post office Monday. The item in question turned out to be a typewriter. WPD posted on Facebook just before noon saying the parking lot to the post office on West Main Street was closed and that people should avoid the area.
In an update around 2:30 p.m., the department then said an explosive ordnance disposal team “was able to determine using their robot that the package was not an explosive device” then posted a photo of the item: an Olympia SM-series portable typewriter. The parking lot has since been reopened and police have cleared the scene with police giving the all clear.
